Hello loyal minions! I'm at the bookstore working on my research paper and decided to try posting via text messaging! Hi!
I just read this and wanted to share:
"Great literature, DH Lawrence came to realize, is the seemingly artless creation of everyday life, with its rhythms, its immediacy, its truthfulness, and its life-and-death struggle with the problems of existence, with just enough art to give definition and to make us think it is directly drawn from reality, even when we know we are being manipulated."
This is why I love art and look forward to infecting young minds with my obsession:)
And how about that last post, eh? Lots of great responses. Thank you for being such wonderful BBs (blogging buddies)!
Let's hope this text thing works... *fingers crossed*
Oops, this isn't quite what I thought it was going to be about.
"Move along, nothing to see here." Hee hee.
Glad to be your blogging buddy,
Barry
I think according to your quote that DH Lawrence would have been a fan of blogging. I would love to sit and be infected by your contagious passion for art and life. I guess reading about it will have to suffice. Great posts lead to great comments!!! You lead therefore we follow!
Can you believe you can post via text message? That's so awesome.
Barry! Get your head out of the gutter... or not. It's probably more fun there.
Shaney:))) I think Lawrence would've liked it to. It would appease "the swine" as he liked to call society around WWI. That's of course after no one would publish his books and stories because they had to do with whoopie making.
I think it helps to have your head in the gutter if you're going to read DH Lawrence, no?
(Tell me you haven't read Lady Chatterly's Lover.)
Oh yeah... Lawrence was naughty - momma like.
And so was Whitman! My goodness that man had some fire (for other men... actually).
Good stuff!!!!
