God it's good to see you back active again (hopefully for more than a little while!) Any updates on your 27 apps?

Cindy, I'm flattered beyond words that you would ask to repost "Released" here. Of course you may, and any others you feel are suitable. It would be great to see it on your blog and reach a new audience.

You said one day you'll stop being scared to write this way. I would honestly love to see something of this nature from you, I think you'd express it intensely and very beautifully. How 'bout writing something for yourself and sitting with it for a few days. See how the idea of posting it sits with you. I've found that pushing my literary boundaries by expressing my erotic side (even softly) is tremendously liberating. Of course it's your call my dear.

A little background on this piece, you can include it with the post if you'd like. It was inspired by a conversation I had with a female blogger friend in Cairo, Egypt about the oppression of women in Arab countries. Although this poem (prose) isn't specifically about that culture it was foremost in my mind as I wrote it. It's dedicated to oppressed women everywhere, not necessarily to be taken in the literal sexual context in which I've presented it. But it's representative of any free thought and action which must be subdued due to cultural expectations and influences.

Cindy! So great to hear from you! Thanks for your comments. And yes, being girlie is just SOOOOO much fun. I've only recently reconnected with my inner fashionista. And damn it's fun. It's gotten re-hooked on MAC cosmetics, high heels, skirts and jewellery. I just found out Barry LOVES glittery eye shadows so I'll definitely have to check them out. Anyway, there's a few older posts (better late than never I think specifically) has pictures of our Christmas party ... Barry's fav pic is our future sister-in-law and I showing off our shoes. You might like the gladiator shoes. Have fun with the girlie look ... and I totally recommend Secrets of Style ... I'll even be doing a review post. Great to see you back again Cindy ... I keep checking ... I've missed your posts but of course totally understand. Enjoy your holidays.

It's pretty surreal to think my little blog inspired absolutely anyone to do absolutely anything. And to think it got you, an intelligent put-together guy rediscovering a latent love for literature...well, what can I say, it's pretty amazing. Thanks for always reminding me of that!

Thanks for your comments Cindy, I can never get enough. If you haven't already, would you mind giving my "Released" post (December 19)a read if you get a chance? I'd be interested in your honest opinion.

I don't believe I ever told you this, but reading some of your work here inspired me to return to writing a few months ago. Think of your passion for literature and writing and you'll know how much that meant to me, and still does. :)
