I love your comment on my Women's Day post. I'll have to come back and read up on what's been going on. There's a LOT of people I have to catch up on ... not sure when ... but I'll work on it.

Barry - I don't write poetry... it scares me. It's honest and it's raw and I'm not exactly sure how I convinced myself that I shouldn't put those things on paper. But between you and Brian and Prof. Marcus I decided to just write and MAYBE share:) It's odd how I can write an essay about very personal things without any issues but when it comes to poetry I'm terribly self-conscious and always think it sounds like any kid in 3rd grade could do better.

But this little piece means a lot to me because it's a look at my life in the past 10 years or so... hard times, things I've learn, people I've learned from, stories I cherish and of course the undeniable need to do something amazing. I'm working on it!

Little Girl - thanks for your kudos. I'm terribly shy writing anything this personal so I appreciate your saying that.

Paula - glad you stopped by! I've been far from my own writing lately but between you and a couple others who have been touched at some point by something I said... well... it's just a heck of a reminder that what we share is important and can make someone smile. That means the world to be. :)

I've always (and I mean always)taken something from your writing after I've read it. Usually it's wrapped in a smile, sometimes accompanied with great introspection as I've turned your thoughts towards myself.

I don't recall ever seeing you post any of your poetry before. That's too bad, 'cause I love this. I'm looking forward to (hopefully) seeing more!

It is good to see you back. I am sorry for the troubles in your homeland but I am glad that everyone is well. You and yours will be in my thoughts and prayers. Just recently at the urging of a friend I started a bulletin board of sorts on my fridge. That makes me think twice before I grab something that I shouldn't. I have in magnetic letters "WHY I DO IT". Why I am changing, why I am dieting, why I am trying to be a better friend, father, brother, and ex-husband. I would like to put this on my fridge along with other inspirational poetry I have found. Your words resonate with me so well. Thanks for sharing! Again you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Everyone - thanks for the good thoughts and positivity:)))) I'm happy to report grandma is doing much better. I sent her cash today and I'm hoping she won't have any trouble getting it. C'mooooon Western Union... Anyhoo, the entire country is in chaos of course and I've decided to stop watching the news for hours at a time because it's depressing and nothing is accomplished by sitting on my couch with teary eyes all day. Thanks love. I don't want to watch this anymore and I can't tear myself away from the TV. I still haven't heard anything... Santiago looks better than the southern part of the country. That makes me feel better, but they just showed a security camera video of the quake and I just pictured grams in that bouncing around and falling all over the place. Ugh... *breathe*
